What instruments can I learn?
I teach a variety of instruments and styles, depending on your goals:
Classical Guitar
Electric Guitar
Acoustic Guitar
A classical guitar has nylon strings, which feel softer on the fingers, making it perfect for beginners or anyone who prefers a gentler sound. It’s great for playing fingerstyle pieces, folk tunes, or classical music from composers like Bach and Sor.
The classical guitar provides a very solid technical foundation, making the other two types of guitar, so much easier.
I highly recommend you start on this type of guitar if you're undecided.
The electric guitar is all about creativity and expression. You can play with different tones and effects, from clean jazz sounds to crunchy rock riffs.
It’s heavy to hold, particularly for smaller children. The metal strings are also hard to press and cause pain for beginners.
Caution is advised for those wanting to learn the electric guitar. It will take some perseverence at the start!
The acoustic guitar has steel strings and a brighter, louder sound. It’s ideal for strumming along to songs, singing with friends, or learning folk, pop, and rock music.
This guitar type is harder than people initially think. Its hard on the fingers and requires a lot of finger independance and dexterity to get around the first position chords.
If you want to learn songs, I would recommend starting on a classical guitar whilst you build up dexterity and strength.
